Counselling is a talking therapy, similar to psychotherapy, that can offer you the opportunity to explore your concerns with someone trained to listen in an effective way. This is not the same thing as someone giving you advice, or talking things through with a friend. Interaction with a caring, understanding counsellor can help you discover ways of dealing with your issues by developing self-awareness, encouraging insight and enabling you to learn how to spot old, destructive patterns of behaviour.

Depression, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, anger… these are just a few of the emotional states many of us suffer alone or suppress with anti-depressants and other drugs. Grief, loneliness and relationship problems can also benefit from exploration with an empathic and non-judgemental counsellor.
